That’s right, I said it. This is undoubtedly the best fish and chip shop I’ve been to but is over a hundred miles away. Thankfully I was able to pop along.
This is the first chippy that I have visited in over 3 years since going vegan. I ordered the vegan Banana Blossom meal deal. It was fantastic. The banana blossom is the best alternative to fish that I have ever tried. The batter was light and crispy.
Went purposely to try the banana blossom “fish” and I was not disappointed, it was delicious (sadly it doesn’t photo well). The premises are new, so very smart, and the staff were friendly and chatty.

Very friendly staff, very clean establishment. Ordered large chips large battered sausage and 2 fish cakes all for under £10, piping hot and very delicious, I will definitely be going back

Since the new owners have taken over a few weeks ago, it’s a totally different place. It is like it used to be years ago. The quality of the food is a massive improvement. Plus the staff are actually happy to see you and will have a laugh and joke with you.

I rarely buy takeaway because I’m ALWAYS disappointed. I’ve got caught up tonight and the family has decided on a chippy. We live in Hucknall and over the last 10 years have slowly decided not to return to any of them. Tonight we went to Phil’s and for me to review it’s got to be good! I’ve written 2 reviews in my life.
First time ordering from here and it’s was absolutely lovely the food was amazing also very fast delivery and polite staff thank you so much 💯 will be ordering again.
