I have been learning to play guitar with Rob for the last 18 months. Each lesson has been very positive; Rob is patient and enthusiastic. He has set achievable goals which have been met. This has meant I can fully appreciate my progression which gives me confidence. He encourages me to be innovative and experimental which has opened up my playing and make homework and practice addictive. I do recommend Rob as a guitar tutor, he’s a good bloke.
Rob is a really superb teacher. He listens well and then teaches what you want to learn, explaining the things you need to know very well. Thanks to Rob, I quickly learned my way around the fret board, started playing more barre chords, learned how to play around with scales and different progressions, and expanded my knowledge of music
Rob is an excellent teacher, great for beginners or anyone looking to carry on learning guitar. He can teach you a variety of different types of music, so almost anybody could learn from him, and is easy to understand.

Our regular drummer in Mispent Youth caught COVID so Jim stepped in with 24 hours notice. He did a great job and saved us having to cancel a gig. I would fully recommend Jim, an excellent musician, very professional and a really nice bloke too. Many thanks Jim – Mispent Youth
Fantastic drum teacher! Jim has tailored his lessons to suit my drumming ambition (i.e. John Bonham). His enthusiasm and energy for drumming is both abundant and infectious.
My Daughter has progressed really well since starting Drum lessons with Jim last Summer. We like his approach to teaching, making the lessons fun and focusing on building from solid foundations of technique. He also shows a passion for Drumming which rubs off on his students, with Jim regularly providing examples of techniques/music for my daughter to practice in between lessons.

Express Guitar

67 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG1 3FN, United Kingdom
What We Offer:

I started teaching guitar privately in 1985 and have done so ever since. I teach classical, rock, jazz and folk students from beginners to professional and flamenco and most other styles of music possible on guitar up to an advanced standard. From 2004 to 2014 I was a visiting instrumental teacher at a large number of schools including Nottingham High School 2006-2014, and Trent College. At one time I was teaching at 9 schools with around 150 students a week.  These ranged from year 5 students right up to A level candidates. I urge you to compare the extent of experience in teaching performing and research with other guitar teachers.

Simon employs a unique approach to guitar teaching that will not disappoint. You won’t find his approach elsewhere. Go for a lesson – that’s all you’ll need.
Fantastic instructor with an enthusiastic and holistic approach to guitar teaching. I’ve only just started playing the guitar with Simon and I’ve learnt so much already – he’s helped with my singing too! Highly recommended for beginners like me.
I’ve always thought of myself as tone deaf and lacking in rhythm but decided at the tender age of 60 I needed a new challenge. So I decided to take up the guitar. Searching online I found Simon and went for a taster lesson
